Audry Goembel and Elden Gerdes were married at the First Baptist Church in Luverne on November 27th with the Rev. Orval Byrd officiating the double ring ceremony.
Carol Olson and Donald Roesner are engaged. The wedding has been set for December 26th.
Mr. and Mrs. Russell Gerdes were honored at a farewell party at the Veterans Club in Iona on Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Gerdes are leaving soon for their new home in Mountain Lake.
Louis Schwab was admitted to the Slayton Memorial hospital on Sunday where he underwent major surgery having his leg amputated.
Barbara Lundeen returned home after a three-month stay at the Worthington hospital following scooter accident on September 10th when she suffered a broken leg.
The village of Fulda has elected J. B. Evenson to the position of clerk; Marv Heinrichs was elected as trustee; and Harvey Larson was elected assessor. Joe Schindler polled 148 votes for constable.
Janet Scheuneman and Alden Wildfeuer were united in marriage on November 26th at Trinity Lutheran church in Elgin with the Rev. G. H. Dorn officiating.

Sheriff Orville Muck officially sent a letter of resignation to the Murray County commissioners. Muck plans to retire and remain in Murray County were he has served as sheriff for 14 years.
A resolution to reduce the speed limit on Highway 59 was passed by the Fulda City Council this week. The resolution will be sent to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. The present limit is 50 miles per hour and the resolution ask that it be changed to 40 miles per hour adjacent to the Fulda city limits.
The board of the Farmers Coop Commission of Fulda named Steve Negen, 25, manager of the Russell station.
A new bank account system for people fifty-five and older was announced today at the Citizens State Bank. The Golden Security Society will offer a broad range of banking services.
Fulda firemen answered a fire call Monday noon at the Dan Lubben residence were they dismantled part of the chimney despite the high winds and freezing snow. No estimate on damage was given.

The Fulda/Slayton Warriors took charge in their own round-robin tournament held on Saturday in the Fulda Gym. The Warriors placed eight individual champions and came in 113 points ahead of the runner-up Windom team.
