Ten years ago, the Fulda Memorial Library reopened its doors after a reodeling project was completed that provided for greatly needed open space.

When the remodeling was complete, the new space offered a kids section filled with everything from Harry Potter to the Cat in the Hat and a children’s movie section as well.

Directly across from the entry way was a display that offered many books about the History of Minnesota.

A computer area was available to students or adults to allow them to access the internet for research purposes.

Librarian Beth Cuperus recalls that the remodeling project began in March of 2002. Peska Construction, Sioux Falls, SD was hired to build the addition to the existing brick library.

For six months, the contents of the library was moved to the Fulda Ambulance Hall to allow for the remodeling to be done.

When the work was completed, the Friends of the Fulda Memorial Library held an Open House during the week of October 21-25th, 2002.

Since that time, the Fulda area has continued to support the library. During 2011, more than 29,000 books and other materials were checked out of the library for use by local patrons.
