The regular Village Election for the Village of Fulda will be held the first Tuesday after the first Monday in December, that being December 4, 1962, at the village hall between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m.

John Goettig, 10-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Goettig, had the misfortune of running into a car on Friday afternoon. John received 16 stitches in his head and 3 in his leg.

Marvin Kleve remains in Sioux Valley Hospital rather discouraged, but haling slowly. He is now having whirlpool treatment on his leg.

Bursitis can be prevented this winter if you treat it as you would a new, expensive car - warm it up slowly and give it time to get fully lubricated before you race the motor.

Tom Hammond had a narrow escape Friday when picking corn alone on his farm. His mounted picker caught fire and its gas tank exploded. Mr. Hammond was vainly trying to suffocate the fire with shovels of earth to save the corn when Mrs. Greg Mathias noticed the smoke and called the fire department.

Eleen Kuehl and Carl Wysocki announce their engagement. The wedding will take place on December 29th in Minneapolis.

Joan Kuehl and Don Kramer announce their engagement. A December wedding is planned.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kaiser are the parents of a daughter born Monday in Worthington.

A daughter, Gwen, was born on Thursday to Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Herrmann.

Thursday, November 4, 1982

Syd Halverson became the first women to be elected to the Fulda City council with 504 votes. A total of 616 voters turned out in Fulda. Emery Beckman won the second council seat with 397 votes. Incumbent Wally Getzel was defeated with 231 votes. Incumbent Craig Shea ran unopposed for mayor with 494 votes.

Deputy Ron McKenzie defeated incumbent Sheriff Jack Lewis by less than 100 votes.

A home owned by Jerry Clark was destroyed by fire Saturday in Avoca. Mr. Clark escaped without injury but the Avoca firemen could not save the home.

Minnesota conservation officers handled a record number 11,749 car-killed deer last year and is advising motorist to take caution this season.

Dale Sandberg was recently named District 8 volleyball Coach of the Year.

Nearly 100 Fulda youngsters crammed in the city hall Sunday evening to take part in a Halloween party sponsored by the Jaycee Women.

Pastor and Mary Menk announce the arrival of Joshua Gerald on October 31st. Grandparents include Archie and Hope Menk and Fred and Elizabeth Wolf.

Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Isder are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Kelli Lynn born October 14. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Rimer Isder and Mr. and Mrs. Max Ohlson.

Clancy C. Olson passed away on October 27th at the age of 65 years old.

Seven weeks ago when the filing period for city offices expired, it appeared that there were no willing takers for the post of mayor. Since then two men have come to the fore as write-in candidates, Bill Cuperus and Gary Holden. Running for City Council are Harold Busch, Barb Sandhurst and Ron Kellen.

Nine-year-old Steven Leske, author of two books, brings his stories to life with the help of Fulda elementary students who act out the parts of knights, princesses and dragons.

The Fulda Firemen and Ambulance crews teamed up for a mock accident this past week.

Pam Ommen and Dave Sieve were married August 15th at St. Kilian Church.

Barbara Fischer and Leslie Engler Jr. were united in marriage on September 5th at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church.

Tim and Glenda Beeck are the proud parents of a son, Alex, born on October 21st at the Rochester Hospital. Grandparents are Roger and Judy Gerber and Les and Dorothy Beeck.

Matt and Tami Handy are the parents of Kari Rose born October 22nd. Grandparents are Ray and Diane Handy and Leland and Janet Zuver.

Dick Boom passed away on October 16th after suffering with cancer for 9 years. Mr. Boom passed away at the Fauskee Nursing Home in Worthington.

William Schipper passed away on October 23 at the age of 77 years old.
