Working with Children is the primary future goal of the young women who are enrolled in the Fulda Free Press ‘Working With Children” class. Last week, these young women met with the sixth grade Fulda Elementary students to make thirteen tied fleece blankets for Project Linus.
Working With Children students were paired with sixth grade students and given the materials and tools to use to cut and tie their Project Linus blankets.
Using the high school cafeteria as a temporary crafts room, the blankets were laid out and precut stencils were used to cut the corner squares away as well as slicing the one-inch strips all the way around the material to allow for ties to be made.
Two class periods were used to complete the Linus Blankets. The Working With Children Class members have worked with most of the elementary aged students in the Fulda School District.
Project Linus is an organization that provides warmth and security through the presentation of handmade blankets to children who are in need.
