The girls' basketball team lost a heartbreaker to the George Little Rock Mustangs, Thursday. The team had four, of their starting five, foul out in the contest.

Fulda had the lead for the majority of the game, but with seven minutes left in the final quarter fouls claimed its first victim.

The Raiders still had a comfortable eleven point lead with four minutes remaining, when once again fouls benched another of our post players.

Now working at containing a seven point, uncontested scoring spree by the Mustangs, (37-41) our team lost two starting guards with 30 seconds on the clock. Sariah Cheadle remarked."We knew tonight would be tough with two of our post players out with illnesses, but I got a bit worried when our starting posts fouled out. This just made us work harder and play stronger to try and add another win."

Fulda fell behind by one and never recovered following free throws by GLR.

The Raiders failed to get a shot off with 1.1 seconds left and the game ended with the Raiders on the losing end 45-43.

Sariah Cheadle led the team in scoring with 11 points and 7 rebounds, Melissa Gehl added 9 pts, 6 steals, and 5 rebounds.

Brittney Hermeling chipped in 9 points and had 4 steals and 4 assists. Rachel Cheadle added 5 points and 14 rebounds.

While Courtney Tiesler contributed 5 points, 3 steals, and 3 assists. "28 fouls don't win competitions," added Coach Slaathaug.

The team will look to rebound Friday evening when they travel to Edgerton to take on the Flying Dutchmen. B squad starting at 6:15 followed approximately at 7:30 with the varsity match up.
