Final Fulda FFA Blue Jacket winning essay

December 25, 2012

Editor’s Note:
In last week’s edition of the Fulda Free Press was an article about three Fulda High School students who earned FFA Blue Jackets by submitting an essay to the Blue Jacket Competition. Two essays were available at press time. Below, we share with you the third student’s winning essay.

By Taylor Schetter

•Why do you feel you need an FFA Jacket?

I feel I need an FFA jacket because I would like to be an active FFA member and I need a jacket to compete in FFA contests. I have already competed in the Forestry CDE and earned a trip to the FFA State Convention and I would possibly like to compete in a couple more CDE’s. I would also like to have my own FFA jacket because my four older siblings all have their own jackets and I would like to have my own too.

•How will the FFA Jacket help you make an impact?

The FFA jacket will help me make an impact because someday I would like to be a Chapter Officer. I would like to get involved in all of the things than I can and to try to make this world a better place to live through my opportunities with FFA.

•What have you done in FFA since becoming a member?

Since becoming a FFA member, I have attended chapter meetings, attended the Region Greenhand Day and competed in the Forestry CDE. I have learned and recited the FFA creed and motto.

•What does your FFA future look like?

In my FFA future, I hope to make a positive impact in my home and community and strive to receive the awards I can receive. I would like to be a chapter officer and attend the State Greenhand Conference.
