Many complaints have come to us in recent months regarding village proceedings, and why they are not published each month. We agree, Fulda citizens are entitled to know where, to whom and for what purposes money is spent. The best advice we can give is to talk to your councilmen.


Eleen Kuehl and Carl Wysocki were united in marriage in a double ring ceremony on December 29th at St. Helena’s Catholic Church in Minneapolis with the Rev. Bury officiating.

Marcia Law is engaged to Kenneth Koestler. A fall wedding is planned.

Beverly Langer and James Vaske were married in St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church on Monday, December 31st with Rev. Thomas Duane officiating.

The board of directors for the Maple Lawn Nursing Home were pleased with the efforts of the building finance committee as they raised $33,858.00 of the $50,000.00 goal.

Mr. Ralph Worden returned home Thursday after being a patient at the Murray County Hospital.

Mrs. Katherine Haberman has been in the Cashel Nursing Home in Worthington since last Saturday after suffering a stroke three weeks ago.

Mrs. Helma Erickson is at her home after major surgery.

Mable Michelau received the White habit of the Sisters of the Third Order of St. Dominic of Adrian, Michigan.

Mrs. Lisetta Kuehl was buried at Heron Lake on Thursday.

The Fulda Raiders won their first game of the new year defeating Brewster 53 to 36 thanks to a 22 to 3 third quarter run.

Fulda City Council members met with employees for negotiations on wages for the coming year. The pendulum swung back and forth between giving a raise and freezing the salary at the present level. In the end, the estimated amount of wage increase for all employees was $7,480 for the year.

The Fulda Mealsite provides Senior Citizens with hot meals and friendly faces thanks to mealsite Manager Dorothy Bottin and volunteers Lydia Hanson, Erick Elting and Clem Smith.

Gail Marotzke and Geoffrey Miller announce their engagement. A July 2nd wedding is planned.

Pamela Kleve and Craig Chapman announce their engagement. No wedding date has been set.

Kendra Haarberg and Brian Bunkers announce their engagement. A May 28th wedding is planned.

Mr. and Mrs. Roger Cellmann are the parents of a daughter, Traci Marie, born January 9th. Grandparents or Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Heintz.

Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Magnussen are the parents of a boy, Kris Martin born January 6th. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Balfanz and Mrs. Jerrie Magnussen.

The time was when first responders rushed to give emergency care to individuals only to wait a good half hour for a transport to the hospital. That all changed thirteen years ago when the city of Fulda got it’s own ambulance and a volunteer staff of emergency medical technicians went on call twenty-four hours a day - seven days a week. Now the Fulda ambulance squad is capable of responding within three to five minutes, but more importantly can transport the patient to the emergency room in an effort to save each and every precious life.
