Fulda City Council starts process to better water

March 6, 2013

The council voted to proceed with the design and plans part of the water treatment repairs.
The council voted to proceed with the design and plans part of the water treatment repairs. John Graupman, P.E. of Bolton & Menk, Inc reviewed the project with the council and estimated the project cost at $682,000 for all needed repairs. Time estimates were four weeks before the projects would start and then twelve weeks to complete the repairs. The council will explore options to cover the cost of the repairs. Consideration will be given to delaying part of the repairs to a future date. Tax increases, usages rate increase, and other means will be explored.

Fire Chief Speckmier said the Civil Defense Sirens need to be replaced for a cost of $7,500. A grant of 4,000 may be available. The existing sirens will be used by setting them off individually.

Cost of living increases for employees were approved at 1.7 percent. Beer and liquor licenses were approved for the Town & Country Golf Course, Ivy's and the American Legion.

The council will meet March 18th for the 2012 Audit Review. The next regular meeting will be April 1st at 7:00 PM.
