March 6, 2013

by Jerry Johnson
We got some weather but nothing like what was forecast. There were a lot of different predictions made but the result for us was ice, sleet and little snow. It's just a few weeks to April.

It is kinda humorous watching all the politicians blame each other for the current finances. The across the board cuts are in place and the effects will start to pile up. As we listen to some of the more painful examples we need to remember most of these problems could have been dealt with earlier with less hardships. The 2.4 percent cut went into effect March 1 reducing the budget by 85 Million dollars. It will hurt but choices could have been made and should have. Federal borrowing cannot keep increasing. The next pending deadline is the end of March when an agreement needs to be reached or all nonessential government will stop and we know how expensive that will be.

The election of the next Pope is in progress and maybe be overwith in a few days. The election of a pope is made from past work not campaign promises. That sounds good but the voting continues up to four times a day until someone gets a two thirds majority.

Have a great week!
