Fulda High School earns funds from Viking Coca-Cola Powerade sales

Fulda High School teacher and Head Girls Golf Coach, Loren Carlson, accepted a $722.83 check from Deb Severson, Cold Drink Account Manager with Viking Coca-Cola Bottling Company on Thursday.
“Viking Coca-Cola has always been a good provider and supporter for us,”
Fulda High School was among several area schools who received funds from Viking Coca-Cola Bottling Company for selling Powerade products through vending machines and concessions. FHS received $722.83.

Viking Coca-Cola Bottling Company is directing a portion of its sales of the products Powerade and Powerade Zero back to participating area high schools under a program called “Powerade 4 Schools.”

“Viking Coca-Cola has always been a good provider and supporter for us,” math teacher and Head Girl Golf Coach Loren Carlson stated. “This money, which is like a rebate or kickback to the school for the products used, will be used to help buy something for our students.”

At the current time, consideration is being made of purchasing additional equipment for the weight room at Fulda High School.

“Viking Coca-Cola started the Powerade 4 Schools program to help bring awareness to students and staff, and others as well, of beverages that are a more healthy choice,” Deb Severson, Cold Drink Account Manager with Viking Coca-Cola stated.

The program’s goal is to encourage active lifestyles through the support of school athletic programs, within the Viking Coca-Cola Bottling Company franchise territory.

Money be will collected on all Powerade and Powerade Zero products sold throughout the Viking Coca-Cola Bottling Com. territory and then divided to high schools based on a percentage of purchased beverages.

Participating area high schools include: Fulda High School, Marshall High School, Tracy High School, Lakeview High School, Minneota High School, Canby High School, Red Rock high School, Westbrook High School, and Wabasso high School.
