The Anderson Independent Company Lumber Yard of Fulda has been purchased by Great Plains Supply Company, St. Paul, MN. This purchase brings the total number of lumberyards owned by Great Plains supply Company to 121 in the Dakotas, Minnesota, Montana, Iowa, and Nebraska.

After fifty-seven years working as telegrapher and station agent for local railroads, William Cosgrove of Dundee has decided to retire. The marriage of Mary Ellen Wenzel and Dwane C. Kuiper was solemnized in St. Paul's Lutheran Church on March 30th with the Rev. A. J. Kretzchmar officiating.

The Fulda Lions Club is now collecting used eyeglasses for distribution to needy people in India and South America.

Jeanine Sieverding and Franklin Kruse were united in marriage on Saturday, March 30th at Presbyterian Church in Worthington with Rev. Tate officiating the double ring ceremony.

Rev. Captain Fellers of Travis Air Force Base in California officiated the military wedding with a double ring ceremony of Patricia Arlene Hager and 1st Lt. Richard Lund on March 23rd at Holy Spirit Catholic Chapel.

Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Krogman are the parents of a son, William Peter, born on April 1st. Grandparents include Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Freetly and Mrs. Helena Krogman.

Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Carlson are the parents of a son, Daniel James, born Saturday, march 30th. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Langer and Mr. and Mrs. Carl D. Carlson are the grandparents.

One of the early farming operations in the Fulda area was known as the Coburn Farms, which were owned by Chicago Attorney Lewis L., Coburn. After his death in 1910 the farms were put into a trust and divided among his 13 nephews and nieces. Liquidation of the Coburn farms has been going on for years on a limited basis. What is remaining of the 3,888.81 acres is now being sold.

The Fulda City Council discussed replacing the streetlights on West Lake Avenue at a recent meeting. The landowners attending the meeting were in favor of keeping the present system, which is the original and first street lighting in Fulda.

Margaret Downey is honored as Resident of the Month at Maple Lawn Nursing Home.

Julie Van Dyke and Doug Czepa announce their engagement. A May 14th wedding date has been set.

Betty Jean Kafka and Gary Sandhurst announce their engagement. A July 16 wedding date is planned.

A baby girl, Genea, was born on March 20 to Mr. and Mrs. Gary Fielder. Grandparents include Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Fiedler and Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Haupin.

Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Enninga announce the birth of Mark Bradley, born on March 30th. Grandparents include Mr. and Mrs. Harm Enninga and Mr. and Mrs. Leander Zins.

Mabel C. Cosgrove passed away April 3 at the age of 93 years old.

Bernice Hardekopf passed away April 3 at the age of 66 years old.

The Fulda City Council discussed the storm sewer improvement project with Tom Wall of DGR. The preliminary line work and the profile alignment of the storm sewer will start soon.

Fulda's FLA and FFA members were recognized for outstanding service by Governor Arne Carlson for their Project S.A.F.E. (Safe Areas For Everyone) program.

A one-vehicle accident on April 3 claimed the life of Mary Klein, 19, of Fulda.

Lori Ferguson and Dave Welling were united in marriage on October 10, 1992 at the American Lutheran Church in Worthington with Pastor Bill Blundell officiating.

Tammy Heintz and Jeffry Carlson announce their engagement. A May 29th wedding is planed.

Mary Klein passed away April 3 at the age of 19 years old.

Verona Hansen passed away March 29 at the age of 82 years old.

Christian Clausen passed away April 2 at the age of 80 years old.

Robert Chepa is honored as Resident of the Month at Maple Lawn Nursing Home.

Mr. and Mrs. Pat Willford will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house.
