Deadline for school board filing is May 9th. Two seats are up for election with polling set for May 21st.

Ralph's Auto Service was broken into Thursday morning. Stolen were a car, a deer rifle and a revolver along with $85.00 in checks and $200.00 cash. Roger Steele of Pipestone was apprehended in Mankato the same day where the car and checks were recovered.

Long time Adrian newspaperman Howard Peters passed away on Monday after suffering a stroke and being hospitalized since December. Mr. Peters was 82 years old.

Brother Simon (Francis R. Maciolek) son of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Maciolek, pronounced his final vows as a Divine Word Missionary Brother at St. Mary's Seminary, Techney, Illinois on May 1st.

Mr. and Mrs. William Sturm are the parents of a daughter, Cynthia, born April 26th. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Anton Sturm.

Mr. and Mrs. Alex Ramerth report that their daughter and son-in-law in Mankato are the parents of a daughter, Betsy, born April 25th.

Mr. and Mrs. Verilyn Legler are the parents of a daughter, Karen, born April 17th.

Fulda City Council hires DAC for janitorial work at the city hall and library.

Residents on 2nd Street east of Maryland asked the council for curb and gutter and a permanent street. They call their street the forgotten street. The project is being looked into.

Denny Martius was appointed as general manager of the Fulda Coop Oil and the Farmers Cooperative Co. as of May 1st.

Harold Graphenteen has taken over operation of Jim's Liquor on Highway 59 effective May 1st.

Sunny weather with seasonable temperatures finally reached Minnesota in late April. However, the average date for beginning full-scale field work is May 1st. Soils in most of Southwest Minnesota remain to wet at this point.

Deb Ruetten and Mark Goettig were married at Queen of Angels Church in Austin on April 16th.

Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Meier proudly announce the birth of a daughter, Laura on April 28th. Grandparents include Mr. and Mrs. Harold Harr.

Mr. and Mrs. William Schindler proudly announce the birth of William Jacob on April 15th. Grandparents include Mr. and Mrs. Vince Schindler and Mr. and Mrs. Don Forrest.

Pat Uttech, Fulda's 1,000-point scorer to play women's basketball at SSU.

Margaret E. Olson passed away April 27, 1983 at the age of 93 years old.

Esther A. Tumler passed away on April 27, 1983 at the age of 74 years old.

The city council approved a franchise with D.D. Cable Holding Inc. for the use of Cable TV, which would include WCCO, AMC, TNT and Nickelodeon. The City will receive 5% of the gross income from the cable company.

A parade has been planed for Memorial Day, May 30th by the American Legion Post 318 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9017.

Minnesota's 87 counties received state grants totaling more than $7 million this month to use for waste reduction, waste education, recycling, and other programs that limit the amount of garbage going to landfills.

A golf cart storage building is being erected at the Fulda Town and Country Golf Club.

Minnie Ruesch is honored as Resident of the Month at Maple Lawn Nursing Home.

Rev. Thomas Duane passed away at the age of 80 on April 28, 1993.

Nancy Overman broke a school record and placed first in the shot put with a tremendous throw of 40'11.
