Thursday, June 13, 1963

Extensive damage was done to crops and property Saturday evening when rain, winds and hail struck the area. Nearly four inches of rain were reported and several trees split by lightening.

Loren Van Oort will be Ordained on Sunday, June 16th at the Immanuel American Lutheran Church near Fulda.

Rev. James Wickstrom will be installed at First Presbyterian Church in Fulda on June 30th.

Rev. Sherman Bohn will be serving as the new pastor at First Lutheran Church in Dundee.

Paul V. Fling and William M. Vollbrecht will open a law office in Fulda starting Tuesday, June 18th.

The Fulda firemen were called to the Glen McGee farm Saturday night when lightening struck the barn.

Mr. and Mrs. Jodie Anderson will note their Golden Wedding Day with an open house on June 16th.

Mrs. Theresa Hager, 89, died in Springfield on June 7th.

Father William R. Rush, 59, passed away suddenly on May 31st.

Mr. and Mrs. Dick Johnson are the parents of as son Jody, born Sunday, June 9. Grandparents include Mr. and Mrs. Reinhart Bruns and Mr. and Mrs. Martin Johnson.

Thursday, June 16, 1983

Diane Oolman and Janet Halbur each brought home fourth place from the State Track Meet.

Mabel Buss is honored as Resident of the Month at Maple Lawn Nursing Home.

The Roller Bros. 3 Ring Circus will appear at the Fulda High School Athletic Field on June 29th. The event is sponsored by the Fulda Area Community Club.

The storm that swept the area Monday evening left nearly three inches of rain on Fulda and the surrounding area. Eighteen twisters had been reported with 11 of those in Minnesota.

Donkeyball game will be held on June 21st featuring the Fulda Businessmen against the Fulda Farmers.

The Raider Band won first in two parades this past week.

Joe and Leanor Kass will celebrate their 50th anniversary with an open house on June 26th.

Sandy Dierks and Barry Holinka were united in marriage on June 4th at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church in Fulda.

Elsie Menges passed away at the age of 98 on June 1st.

Clara J. Voss passed away on June 11 after a lengthy illness at the age of 69 years old.

Gordon Gilbertson passed away on June 1st after a lengthy illness. He was 63.

Warren Walter, 54, passed away on June 7th after having a heart attack.

Wednesday, June 16, 1993

Official wood ducks, Woody and Wadalena, have arrived in Fulda and are making their home at the Marv Isder farm until Festival time. “Jerry Johnson began writing about Woody and Wadalena years ago, said Gary Sell, parade chairman, “It's about time to make an official proclamation. Home of the Wood Duck!”

Kiddie Parade to be held on Friday night, June 25th.

VFW held a Flag Day ceremony giving several citizens new flags.

Ethnic Days planned for August 1st.

Kristine Kelm and Richard Isder were united in marriage on Saturday, April 17th at Grace Lutheran Church in Westbrook.

Elaine Lewis and Michael Walker announce their engagement. A September 11, 1993 wedding day is planned.

Peter Boomgarden passed away on June 6, 1993.

Michael and Sara Ramert are proud parents of a boy, Jack Michael born on May 5th. Grandparents include Mr. and Mrs. Keith Ramert and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Hurtly.

Marvin and Maxine Heinrichs will be celebrating their 45th wedding anniversary on June 20th with an open house.

Kelli Koch hit 17 _” in the long jump taking second place at the State Track Meet.

Nancy Overman brought home two silver medals from the State Meet; one in Duscus and one in Shot.

A year later; Chandler and Lake Wilson survive the storm.
