On Monday, July 22, 2013, thirty St. Paul's Lutheran Church Adult Fellowship members and guests enjoyed a bus trip to the Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center, in the middle of a corn field about 15 minutes north of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The government facility opened in 1970 and employs about 600 workers. Scientists, managers, and technical analysts around the world use the data collected at EROS.

The group was given a tour of the faculties with explanation of their work. An EROS satellite circles the earth and sends back information about the earth's surface. The satellite renders information about fires, tornadoes, floods, landslides, hurricane damage, ice storm damage, hail damage to crops, volcanoes, lava flow, earthquakes, and other events. It is helpful for monitoring agricultural advance, measuring drought levels, weed invasion, and the like. The visitors from St. Paul's agreed the tour was very educational and interesting.

Following the EROS center tour the group enjoyed lunch in Brandon, SD. Special thanks goes to Rich Brunk for organizing and driving the bus on behalf of the group. The Adult Fellowship group at St. Paul's provides devotional, service, and fellowship opportunities for its membership. They meet regularly at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fulda, MN.
