New Teacher Matt Saxman

“I am excited to be here. I became a music teacher because I want to teach music,” Fulda’s new band and choir teacher, Matt Saxman, stated.
He moved to the area on August 1st and is living in Slayton. He is a graduate of Mayo High School, Rochester, MN, and attended Winona State University, majoring in kindergarten through 12th grade instrumental and classroom music.
Saxman student taught in Lewiston, Minnesota, to complete the elementary portion of his degree. For the band portion, he student taught at the John Marshall High School, Rochester.
During high school, Saxman was in band, playing trumpet. He became involved in several choral groups in college, including the community chorus, and a pop accapella group. “I sing low base,” he explained. “This summer I was in my first musical, Fiddler on the Roof, in Winona. I enjoyed that very much.”
