November 26, 2013

We have had pretty good weather and the temperature will drop this week. It will still be nice. Shoveling the weather is when things get more difficult.

The deer season is over for me and no,I didn't get one. It was a good time with none of the work. I have missed two bucks with the pickup in the last four days and one was a close call on Monday night near Slayton.

With a little more available time, I can now spend a little more of it on the flower beds making them ready for winter. Those leaves seem to keep gathering no matter what. Some of my trees and bushes seem to be hanging on to their leaves longer than a normal year.

The Affordable Care Act seems to be burdened by problems that may have no cure. The plan after three years of preparation seems to be caught short on fulfillment. The Affordable Care Act looks like it may not be affordable.

Thirty-five days left until Christmas and only one good week until Thanksgiving. You can bet we are in the holiday season and the rush won't stop until we are starting into the cold month of January. It may be all cold, but we will only know that if we look at the Old Farmers Almanac for future weather.

The Antartian reported for her university final examination which, consisted of "yes/no" type questions. She took her seat in the examination hall and stared at the question paper for five minutes.

In a fit of inspiration, she took her purse out, removed a coin and started tossing the coin and marking the answer sheet - Yes for Heads and No for Tails. Within half an hour she was all done, whereas the rest of the class was still sweating it out.

During the last few minutes, she was seen desperately throwing the coin, muttering and sweating. The moderator, alarmed, approached her and asked what was going on. Her reply was, "I finished the exam in half and hour, but I'm rechecking my answers."

Have a good week.
