Leah Ruth Hieronimus, age 74, was born on August 3, 1939, in Worthington, MN, the daughter of Harold and Dorothy (Emerson) Potter. She attended school in Worthington and then was a recruit with the Women's Army Corp. Leah married William “Bud” Hieronimus on August 25, 1962, in Sioux Falls, SD. Leah enjoyed children and babysat many over the years. She was a homemaker and loved gardening, canning, baking, and sharing her goods with others. Leah died on Monday, November 18, 2013, at the South Shore Care Center in Worthington, MN.
Leah is survived by two daughters, Tammy (Dean) Ross of Fulda, MN and Teresa Hieronimus of Worthington, MN; two grandsons, Cody and Calen “Rudy” Ross; one great granddaughter, Morgan Jo Ross; three sisters, Burdell O'Darisen of Worthington, MN, Ethel VanBeest of Linden, MI, and Janet Ward of Houston, TX and brother-in-law, Robert (Penny) Hieronimus of Green Isle, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud in 1999 and one brother.
Memorial services were held on Saturday, November 23, 2013, at 1:00 p.m., at the Worthington Christian Church in Worthington, MN, with David DeFor officiating. Honorary bearers were Cody Ross, Calen Ross, William VanBeest, Henry VanBeest, and Dick VanBeest. Burial will be at a later date at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.
