Dundee City Park will receive upgraded play ground equipment later this year thanks to a Jimmy Durante Children's Fund grant made available through the Worthington Eagles Aerie #3282 and Sixth District Eagles. The Sixth District Eagles includes Worthington, Windom, Luverne, St. James, Tracy, Fairmont, Marshall, Sleepy Eye, and Redwood Falls.

Dundee City Clerk, Becky Clausen, learned about the grant and brought it to the attention to the council. “The City Council has been talking about updating the playground equipment for quite some time,” Clausen explained. “There just hasn't been funds available to do an upgrade. The Council thought that it was a very good idea to apply for the Jimmy Durante Children's Fund grant. I submitted the grant application and the letter that they required about why we were seeking funds for the upgrade. We were very happy to learn that they awarded the City $2,000 to be used for the upgraded equipment.”

Clausen said that Dundee has seen an influx in young children over the past year . “The children spend so much of their time playing in the park, that it was definitely time to upgrade the playground equipment for their safety and enjoyment.”
