Fulda City Council approves new water treatment facility

The Fulda City Council met Monday night, July 7, 2014, for their regular meeting.

Fulda's new Water Treatment Facility has been approved by the Minnesota Department of Health meeting their specifications and standards.

Mediacom notified the city that they are raising the return payment charge $4.00 to $29.00 per returned payment. They also said that around August 25 they are changing a few channels around.

Approved election judges for the Primary Election August 12 and General Election November 4 are Betty Czepa -Head Election Judge, Robert Kolander, Delores Swan, Alvin Heintz, Syd Halverson And Julie Burchill.

Councilmen Chad Ouellette requested that the depot property, building and the Senior Citizen property and building be placed under Parks and Recreation for budgeting. The motion was made and approved.

Becky Runkle and Jes Mitchell requested traffic signs near their residence on Miller and Columbia. The possibility will be reviewed.

An ADA approved water fountain was approved by the council as requested by Chad Ouellette. The fountain will be in the city park.

Chuck Lursen said the water tower will be painted this week. He said the color would be yellowish similar to what is on there now.

Caldwell Asphalt Co., Inc. will be seal coating the streets approximately 17,100 sq. yds. They will be using red rock which is 17 cents more per sq. yd., is suppose to have better results and less dust.

The city office will be getting a water cooler with bottled water.

The legal process will be started by the city to have some trailers removed from the trailer park.

Building applications were approved for Candice Ommen -front deck, Ivan Hakeneis -8x25 ft. covered concrete pad on south side of Ivy's Tavern, Butch Kruger -14x24 front concrete patio, Doug Lubben -wood fence in back yard, Neil Froderman -8.5x16 covered pad on existing garage, Arliss Hein -replace existing deck, Mark Voss - addition on front of house, James Vander Beeck- 16x16 concrete pad, Jack and Beth Kaufman - 28x24 garage.
