Yearly designations made at recent school board meeting

Fulda School Board
The Fulda School Board met Tuesday, July 8th. They started there new school year with yearly designations. Superintendent Luther is the district's purchasing agent, Federal Program Director and Activity Fund Coordinator for Fiscal Year 2015. Lisa Staples is the Activity Fund Representative for the Superintendent for the 2014-2015 school year. The building Principals are Section 504 Coordinators. The Fulda Free Press is the official newspaper. Rupp, Anderson, Squires and Waldspurger.P.A. is the District Legal Council. First National Bank is the official depository; MN Liquid Assets, Fulda Area Credit Union and the First National Bank as depositors for investments; Bremer Bank of Marshall as depositor for wire transfers.

Approval was made for membership in the Minnesota School Board Association.

One open enrollment request into the district was approved.

Science Teacher Jessica Laleman has resigned for a career opportunity at Westbrook Walnut Grove Public Schools.

Johnson Tree Service will remove the evergreen from inside the school courtyard and two other trees on school property for a total of $1,900.00.

A five dollar increase for substitute teachers for a total of $100, fifty cents to a total of $10.00 per hour for paraprofessionals and food service manager, and fifty cents to a total of $9.50 for food service and custodial.

Fees for school hot lunch were increased by 10 cents based on state recommendation. The cost is $2.25 for elementary, $2.35 high school and $3.45 for adults.

The following bids were approved. Milk- Dean's Foods, gasoline - Hwy 59 Fuel Stop, softener salt - Ramerth Hardware and bread products Pan O Gold. The snow removal bid was awarded to Meyeraans.

A proposal to replace the southeast entrance doors of the high school by Tri-State General Contracting, Windom, MN. The cost of the project $16,707.00.

A School Board Retreat is planned for July 17. Part of the discussion will be when the board should ask the voters for a Referendum. Several scenarios have been prepared to compare the referendum revenues and tax rate.
