A SUMMARY OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE MURRAY COUNTY BOARD

May 26, 2020 8:30 a.m. Pursuant to notice, the Murray County Board of Commissioners convened with the following members present in person: Commissioners Welgraven and Thiner. Present via phone were Commissioners Gunnink, Jens and Kluis. Also present in person were Thomas Burke and Ronda Radke. Travis Smith via phone.

MSP to approve the agenda.

MSP to approve the minutes from the May 19, 2020 meeting.

Open Forum/Public – Robin and Chuck Sesna asked about seating for their two businesses and the no parking signs that were put up on the road by their businesses.

MSP to approve ditch contractor bills for County Ditches No. 43A, 50 and Judicial Ditch No. 20A totaling $9,204.84.

MSP to approve Pay Application No. 1 for $49,834.00 to Ankrum Cabinets & Construction for the Sheep Barn Project and approve the Change Order No. 1 totaling $1,744 for the Sheep Barn project as follows: Interconnect PA System to the sheep barn from the hog barn and Arena. $1,177: Remove and replace concrete in east doorway on Olson Arena. $448; Additional rebar in concrete walls. Spaced 2’ versus 4’ in specs. $119.

MSP to approve setting the 2021 budget schedule as follows: July 14 and 15, 2020 for Department meetings with the Board, September 22, 2020 Preliminary budget, and December 1, 2020 Set final levy.

MSP to approve sending a letter of support for the Center of Energy and Environment to continue the One-Stop Efficiency Shop program throughout 2021-2023 and authorize the County Administrator to sign.

MSP to approve ditch inspection report for County Ditches No. 22, 42, 43A and Judicial Ditch No. 5.

MSP to approve a contingent offer to Emerson Winter as a part-time Deputy Sheriff, at a labor grade 11 step 1 contingent on: (1) Satisfactory results of a criminal background check, (2) Satisfactory results of a pre-employment drug test (3) Satisfactory results of a psychological evaluation, (4) Satisfactory results of a physical agility testing, (5) Satisfactory results of a medical evaluation with a start date to be determined.

MSP to approve the COVID-19 Preparedness Plan for Murray County; a living document that can change as needed.
