Volunteers add spice to life at Maple Lawn Senior Care Center

Their membership today stands almost forty strong, but   the Maple Lawn Pink Ladies are always seeking new volunteers to join their organization.  The groups’ objectives are to stimulate public interest in Maple Lawn Senior Care Center, to provide a greater opportunity to volunteer services for the greater happiness of the residents, to develop a spirt of fellowship among all volunteers of the Pink Ladies Organization and to support and strengthen sound relationships between residents and the member of the community.

Co-president Karen Ommen recently reviewed the history of the beginnings of the Maple Lawn Pink Ladies. She said, “It was twelve women who met at Fulda City Hall to organize the group. The year was 1964.  Growing up in Fulda, the names of the Charter Members were all familiar to me. I love the fact that they felt nothing is more important in our community than taking care of our elderly.”
