Carroll Stanley Dahlgren

C. Stanley Dahlgren was born on September 7, 1931 in Sioux City, Iowa to Joel and Rosetta Berg Dahlgren.  He grew up in Wakefield, NE and graduated from Wakefield High School.  On April 7, 1956 he and Joan Petrow were married at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sioux City.  Following their marriage they made their home in Sioux City until 1959 when they moved to a farm near Wakefield.  In 1965 they moved to a farm near Slayton, MN.  Stan farmed until 1985 when he started Dahlgren Agri and ran it until 2015.  In December 2015 Stan became a resident of the Golden Living Center-Slayton where he passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at the age of 84.  He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton.  Stan enjoyed spending time with family, playing cards, coffee and dice with friends, going to auctions, and attending his grandchildren’s activities.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Mae Dahlgren of Slayton, MN; six children and their spouses, Joel and Rhonda Dahlgren of New Ulm, MN, Leslie Dahlgren of Slayton, MN, Traci and Douglas Bonine of Holland, MN, Jay and Tammy Dahlgren of Madison AL, Eric and Sarah Dahlgren of Hadley, MN, and Christina and Christopher Wolner of Montevideo, MN; 13 grandchildren Nicholas and Taylor Dahlgren, James, Angela and Vanessa Dahlgren, Maya Bledsoe, Alexandra, Eva and Ella Wolner, Andrew and Mackenzie Bonine and Andrew and Daniel Kitzberger; one brother, Gordon and his wife, Connie Dahlgren of Scottsdale, AZ; one sister-in-law, Geraldine Dahlgren of North Platte, NE, one brother-in-law, Jim and his wife, Bonnie Petrow of New Palestine, IN  and several nieces and nephews and their families.  He is preceded in death by his parents, one son, C. Stanley Dahlgren Jr., one brother, Robert Dahlgren, one sister-in-law, Inez Dahlgren and father and mother-in-law, C. James and Amelia Petrow.
