City council – Mediacom to raise rates

The Fulda City Council met Monday December 2. In the Open Forum Terry Nelson requested help with his sewer digging bill because it was his opinion that it was the city’s fault. The city said it wasn’t a city issue.

Mediacom sent notice that it will increase rates from two to ten dollars depending on your package.

The city postponed action on purchasing iPads/tablets after a motion failed without a second.

The final resolution was approved by the council defining road maintenance of South Lafayette Ave. and 230th Ave.

Snow removal by city buildings will be done by Jim Brown.

Resolution 2019-14 was passed approving the final 2019 Tax Levy collectible in 2020. The levy was set at $384,785.00 plus $56,000.00 for the Library for a total $440,785.00.

A lawful Gambling Permit for Julie’s Place was approved for pull tabs.

Tobacco licenses were approved for Casey’s, Graff’s and Maynard’s

Local pound agreement was renewed in conjunction with Slayton and the county. The agreement runs for two years.

There will no longer be a Utility Down Payment Policy

Fee schedules will be looked at in the near future. One item  being considered is an increase  for Building Permits

The next regular meeting will be January 6, 2020 at 6:30 pm.
