Pat Biegler is the new Saddle Club Queen for the Wirock Saddle Club for 1960. Pat replaces the 1959 Queen Lorraine Evenson.

Raymond Kirchner can consider himself a very lucky young man after having a scooter accident and ending up in the Slayton hospital with face cuts by gravel. He is said to have no concussion and no skull fractures.

A Flower and Garden Festival will be held on July 20th at Presbyterian Church.

A program, parade and ceremony at the lake will be held on May 30th in honor of Memorial Day.

Commencement Exercises to be held June 2nd at the Fulda High School for 65 Fulda graduates.

Relatives of Sheriff and Mrs. Leonard Stalling were shocked to hear of the death of their only son, Tommy on Tuesday. The twelve-year-old had been climbing a tree and fell striking his head on a large rock. Although surgery was hastened the boy died shortly afterward.

Mrs. Agnes Durnan rites held last Friday at the Catholic Church. Mrs. Durnan passed away on Tuesday, May 17th.

Friends and relatives attend the funeral of Adolph King last Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Gunderman are the parents of a boy, Jeffrey, born May 17th.

Sunday, May 8th, Carolyn Hultquist became the wife of Robert Ambrose at St. Matthews Lutheran Church of Glendale, California.

Eva Schafer and Stanley Clausen were united in marriage on Saturday, May 21st at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Worthington.

At the Fulda FFA banquet on Friday evening, an Honorary Degree was bestowed on Verlin and Carol Koster.

The Fulda School Board okays an additional fourth grade position.

The annual Fulda Fishing Derby proved yet again that ‘there are fish in that there lake’. Orv Sell of Windom took home first place for largest northern.

Memorial Day will be observed in Fulda on May 28th.

Jennifer Meyer selected to attend Girls State at Bethel College June 10-16.

Jenni McNeil, Candi Sell, Trudy Overman and Bobbi Jo Swenson scored 36 of Fulda’s 40 points in the Red Rock Conference Meet at Mt. Lake on Thursday.

Antoinette Burnell passed away on May 16th at the age of 80 years old.

Sheryl (Shortie) Getzel and Paul Veen announce their engagement. The couple plans a July wedding.

Celebrating birthdays at Maple Lawn Nursing Home this month are Margaret Weinzetl, Priscilla Hakeneis and Anna Volk.

James and Pam Stanton are proud to announce the birth of their son, Ethan born April 8th. Grandparents include Budd and Kyoko Stanton and Arma Bell Stoel.

Fulda City Council accepts the resignation of Police Chief Jason Schulz who has accepted a position as Chief Deputy at the Nobles County Sheriff’s Office.

The Fulda School Board hears concerns from parents on all-day-every-day Kindergarten at their meeting held Tuesday.

Veterans to be honored with a program and parade on Memorial Day.

WalkAmerica raises over $13,000 for March of Dimes; Chrystal Brinkman earned over $100.00.

Leo Voss has spent many months constructing a wall in honor of POW/MIA from the Vietnam Conflict. Just last year Voss constructed a similar wall with engraved names of MIA from WWII, Korean War and the Vietnam War from Minnesota.

Jordan Van Oort to present a vocal recital as a part of his graduation celebration at the high school with his brother, Seth accompanying him on the piano.

Dustin Behr and Sherry Sell to attend the NACURH National Conference in Boulder, Co. World Tour 2000 this week.

Steve Jackson, manager of the Worthington McDonalds, assisted the Fulda Elementary 5th and 6th grade students in loading buckets filled with one million pop tabs into a semi bound for the Ronald McDonald House in Sioux Falls.

Jenna Wendorff records a personal best in the shot put at the Red Rock Conference meet last Saturday with a toss of 40’3 3/4”.

A large crowd was drawn to the two-day gigantic antique glassware auction held at the Aanenson Auction Company building over the weekend. Margaret’s Specialty Antiques provided the glassware including Fostoria, Pink Depression Glass, and Primitives.
