The Raider basketball team is in the Holiday tournament at Sleepy Eye.

A son was born December 26th to Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Runia. Grandparents include Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Gunderman and Ralph Runia.

Mr. and Mrs. John M. Gisclon are the parents of a boy born Christmas Day. Grandparents include Mr. and Mrs. Gerhard Beeck and Mr. and Mrs. John L. Gisclon.

Richard and Ervin Smith have recently graduated from the Reisch American School of Auctioneering at Mason City, Iowa.

As Walt Roti was about to discontinue repair and overhaul work on tractors, Bob Clark, who had been employed by him for the past six years, purchased the building, parts and equipment and has renamed the business Clark’s Service.

Larry Koster topped the charts in bowling this week with a 263, followed by Glen Eshleman with a 247.

Preschoolers from St. Paul’s Lutheran School present “Jesus, Our Savior, A Present For Us”.

Deb Beckman, Joe Bunkers and Michelle Klein were selected to participate in the  nation-wide “Constitution Essay” contest.

Anita and Angie Beeck, daughters of Sheila and Jon Beeck, share different views on their visit with Santa. While Angie is enjoying the visit with a smile, Anita is in tears!

The city council voted to increase salaries for 1987 for city employees.

Mr. and Mrs. Tom Buesing are the parents of a daughter, Christina, born December 20th. Grandparents include Babe and Emory Beckman and Elaine and Howard Holland.

Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Gunderman will observe their 60th wedding anniversary with an open house on December 4th.

Citizens of Tomorrow include Benjamin Timmerman, Dawn Clauson, and Nicole Williamson.

Minnesota winters are well known for the adverse weather conditions that accompany them. Those conditions seemed to have been working overtime last  week as winds, snow and ice ravaged the area, shutting down schools and community activities for nearly six days. High snow drifts and low visibility were enough to confine some rural residents to their homes from Saturday to Thursday. According to the National Weather Service, snowfall began on Saturday with nearly ten inches being recorded. Temperatures plummeting to a high of negative four degrees by Tuesday. Windchill gusts were recorded to have been as low as 50 below zero at times.

In a brief town council meeting held on Friday, Officer Mike Swanson resigned from his position with the Fulda Police Department and has taken a position with the Minnesota State Patrol. Applications are being accepted for the vacated position until January 3rd.

Sandy and Ronnie Kremer are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Marina, born on December 20th. Grandparents include Leona Kremer and Ardell and Harold Fischer.
