Mr. R. H. Hoffman has opened his Chiropractic office in Fulda. Dr. and Mrs. Hoffman will make their home with their children above the remodeled doctor’s office.

Helen Zins will again be collecting news for the Fulda Free Press; call 229 with your news. Helen takes the place of Darlene Sell who is now a representative for Avon Products.

Baskets of yellow and white mums at the Communion rail and bouquets of white mums at the altar provided a beautiful setting, May 28th, for the wedding of Cleo Kass and Rodney Miranowski at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Dundee.

In a setting of spring flowers, Miss Kathleen Poss became the bride of Leonard Haberman at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Avoca on May 28th.

Funeral services were held on Saturday for John J. Steigerwald at Winona. Mr. Steigerwald passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. F. Sukkar at the age 69 years old.

Terri Lynn, five weeks old, has come to make her home with Mr. and Mrs. Don Kolander.

Mr. and Mrs. James Steiner are the parents of a daughter, born May 30th.

Three names have been added to the Honor Roll of Service Men; Ernest Dierks, Buried on foreign soil, World War 1, Jacob West, Civil War, and Walter Fries, World War 1.

Maple Lawn Nursing Home residents were treated to a pet parade by students at St. Paul’s Lutheran School this week.

Rose Tiesler is on the road to recovery after heart surgery.

The closing of St. Mary’s Church in Dundee becomes a reality for it’s close-knit church family. St. Mary’s Church organized in 1903 with an early membership of 50 families.

State Parks will be allowing the public to experience nature first-hand at no cost this weekend as they observe a state-wide open house.

Memorial Day 1990 dawned clear and bright as the traditional observance day was filled with a march around the lake, program, and Taps at the cemeteries.

The family of Marcus Sveinsson made the trip from Sweden to attend Fulda’s graduation. Marcus attended school here as an exchange student this year while living with the Kim Magnussen family.

The boys track team scored 103 points to place second in District and qualify 14 athletes for the Region meet to be held at Wells on Saturday.

The old laundry mat in Fulda was recently demolished by Steve Voss, owner of Pirates. The old building was leveled by Beeck’s Sand and Gravel.

Tracey Wolf and Brad Robb announce their engagement. An August wedding is planned.

Darla Jo Quarnstrom and Steven Storm announce their engagement. The couple is planning a June Wedding.

Willard Karschnik passed away on May 25th at the age of 60 years old.

Veterans were honored at the Memorial Day program held on Monday morning in the Fulda Elementary School gym. Rev. Ray Willamssen was the featured speaker.

The Fulda High School celebrated their 100th commencement on Friday evening as the Class of 2000 bid farewell to classmates as they crossed the stage to receive their diplomas.

The Fulda School District says goodbye to several staff members; Harris Swan, 34 years maintenance department, Syd Halverson, 15 years office staff, Dennis Wilde, 33 years English and Social Studies, Ronald Renneke, 34 years Science, William Stolte, over 30 years English. Also leaving the school district are Principal Kirk Thorstenson and Principal Scott Monson, Spanish teacher Darla Heintz, and sub Shirley Sturm (retired last year).

Kim Kremer receives Girls Scouts Atta Girl Award in recognition of her many years volunteering as a Girl Scout leader and working as the Fulda Service Unit Manager.

Claudette Kirchner and Charles Ankrum announce their engagement. The couple plans an August wedding.

Shannon Winter and Darin Henning announce their engagement. A July wedding is being planned at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Fulda.

Mathilda “Tillie” Finke passed away May 28th at the age of 88 years old.

Herman Abramson is honored as Resident of the Month at Maple Lawn Nursing Home.

Seventh grader Abby Oakland advances to the State Golf competition in St. Cloud next week.

Randy Hein has accepted a position as a real estate salesperson with NORTH CENTRAL® Ag Services Inc.

Tyler Bremer shares the most special pet of all, frog eggs taken from a pond near his home, during Pet Day at St. Paul’s Lutheran School.
