Two generations of Strandbergs compete on the track

Father and son racers Dan Strandberg and Jaeden Strandberg both celebrated victories  on the same night at the Nobles County Speedway in Worthington.

Saturday, July 28, was a night to remember for the Strandberg family. “We both got the pole,” they explained. But that’s not all that they both got. Jaeden raced first, and Dan watched from his car, set to run his own race later in the evening. When Jaeden won, Dan asked a track official if he could go celebrate with him. Dan was able to drive over to Jaeden and celebrate the victory, and then resumed his position for his own race, which he went on to win. Both Strandbergs came home with a trophy that night.

“He was three months old when he started going to races,” Dan explained of his son, Jaeden, who is now 15. His mother, Kristin (Timmerman), took him to the track where Dan was competing, seated backwards in a car seat with earmuffs on.
