Council approves repairs to water treatment plant and tennis courts

The April council meeting on the fourteenth was held via webinar. Maguire Iron was awarded the bid on repairs on the water treatment plant. Plans to replace the tennis courts at the City Park with a new surface starting with the base and leveling the playing surface.

Sump pump requirements will change this year making it impossible to have sump pump discharge into the sanitary sewer no matter the time of year. Discharge will be into your yard or gutter only. Ordinances 238 was adopted and will be enforced by inspection.

The fire departments is considering a purchase of a used fire truck from a Texas company. The truck is of a height that will still fit into the garage doors at the fire hall.

The council approved the replacement of a new ceiling for $12,500 for the Heritage Society Museum. The money comes from the Evelyn Barr family funds.

An Off Sale Liquid License was approved for Antonio’s

A fireworks outdoor display was approved for the Fulda Area Community Club on June 19.

A bill of sale was approved from the Nobles Cooperative Electric for the five wood utility poles plus the wiring located in the city park. The transfer was without an exchange of funds.

Building permits were approved for Jeremy Hooge – addition, Leroy Meyer – five foot chain link fence, Mary Reith – three foot wire fence, and Tim Strenge – addition.

The next regular meeting will be the first Monday of May.
