Fulda School Board holds December meeting

Fulda School Board held their monthly meeting on Tuesday, December 10, 2019, 6 p.m. in the high school board room.

Approved was an out-of-state trip to Decorah, Iowa, for Sunday and Monday, January 12 and 13, 2020. Four students, Dora Rodriguez, Carlos Meza, Hailee Guinn, and Tara Tuin were selected to attend the 2019 Dorian Choral Festival at Luther College.

Colby Pack, Community Education Director, reported that the Winter Brochure will be sent out over the Christmas break.

Sponsors and advertisements are being sought to plan and sponsor a trip to the Twins game during the spring of 2020.

Principal Mike Pagel reported that there are currently 147 students at Fulda High School.

He also said that the new elementary entrance, signage and security cameras project is 99 percent complete.

Principal Pagel issued a Thank You to ALL staff for their ongoing professionalism and dedication.

Grant Harms, Assistant Elementary Principal reported that the current elementary school enrollment is 208.

He shared that the Holiday Food Drive was in progress and would end on Friday, December 13th. This year’s goal was 1,400 pounds of food to be donated to Fulda Food Shelf.

Assistant Principal Harms thanked Ms. Carolyn Beerman for a wonderful Christmas program held on Monday evening, December 9th. He said, “We are grateful for all of her extra work to put together this program every year!”
