Jottings by Jerry – June 1

Memorial Day weekend is history now, the weekend was filled with graduation parties. It was also a time of remembering our fallen. The Memorial Day programs were repeated in most every community honoring those who have gone before us. I was at Fulda’s program in the morning featuring a parade and program and in the afternoon in Heron Lake for the dedication of its new Veterans Memorial. Herbert K. Kellam Post 224 produced an excellent program featuring U.S. Congressman Tim Walz. The hall was packed with people. The Roll Call of Deceased Veterans was part of the ceremony. The weather both Sunday and Monday was most accommodating, which helped all around. There were showers in the early morning hours but little that threatened events.

My garden is in a life or death race with the weeds that threaten the garden existence. I try to help the garden hopefuls with hoeing when it is dry enough and the weather forecast looks good for this week but the next week holds more moisture for us.

I woke up suddenly terrified, I’m late for work!

I opened my eyes and chilled… I’m at work.

Have a good week.
