Murray County Commissioners: Ruker resigns; Burke/Nyquist give update regarding COVID-19

The Murray County Commissioners met via conference call for their March 24th regular meeting as part of the COVID-19 distancing protocol.  There was a slight change in the minutes of the previous meeting with Commissioner pointing out Murray County ambulance has service areas – not territories. When an ambulance responds, the responding ambulance bills for the call.

Auditor/treasurer Heidi Winter presented a bill from the Nobles County Auditor-Treasurer in the amount of $5,867.10 for Murray County’s share of expense relating to JD7, JD11, JD12, JD17, JD20, and JD26.

Ditch inspector Travis Radke had one repair petition which involved CD51 of Belfast Township.

Radke also asked for the board’s approval to declare the 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe as surplus property and authorize its auction on Ebay. This was also approved.

Jim Reinert, IT, expressed his desire to purchase a server for the highway department. It will also be utilized as a backup domain server for the county network. Typically the county replaces these every five years, but in this case, Reinert said they added another year and got a sixth year of use.
