The Fulda C & C will hold a meeting tonight to determine if the 1966 Water Festival will proceed or be discontinued. The Water Festival committee is feeling that there is too little help in the preparation and the funding of the event. A ballot vote will be conducted.

Mr. and Mrs. Don Kramer are the parents of a daughter Tracey Dawn born June 16th. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kramer and Mr. and Mrs. Don Kuehl.

June birthdays were observed at Maple Lawn Nursing Home on Wednesday with cake made by Mrs. Harold Dierks.

Nobles County NFO will hold a pot-luck picnic supper at the Leota ball park on Wednesday, July 6th. A business meeting will be held.

Al Leinen was one of 406 boys who attended Boy’s State at the St. Paul Campus.

Tomorrow’s Leaders: Children’s pictures will be taken on July 15th to be published in the newspaper.

Willard and Ruth Amundson to hold Grand Opening of their newly purchased Gambles store June 30th, July 1, and July 2nd. The Amundsons purchased the store from Ray Toussaint and have remodeled to better serve customers.

Joyce Ruppert and Ralph Cooper were united in marriage on Saturday, June 18th with Rev. Thomas Duane officiating.

Anita Hakeneis and Lavern Rixe were united in marriage at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on Saturday, June 25th.

Nancy Pearson and Ronald Lintner were married on June 25th at First Lutheran Church in Dundee.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church provided the setting for the marriage of June Knott and Delbert Freking on June 25th.

Donna Guyan and Leon Kirchner exchanged vows on June 25th at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Fulda.

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church celebrates 100 years – the church began on March 28, 1886.

The Credit Union steering committee meets to discuss survey.

Margaret Lentz is honored as Resident of the Month at Maple Lawn Nursing Home.

Senator Rudy Boshwitz and State Representative Carol Dyke to be at the Country Host Cafe in Slayton to hold rural economy forum.

Concert-In-The-Park to be held this Thursday by the Fulda High School Concert Band.

Celebrating birthdays at Maple Lawn Nursing Home this month are Elizabeth Hogan, Merna Beckman, Ruth Crowley, Ted VandenBosch and Lizzie Kremer.

Nancy Kelly and Randy Johnson announce engagement. The couple plans a July 19th wedding day.

Sgt. David Suedbeck and Kimberly Kennington announce their engagement. An August 9th wedding is planned.

Annetta Oberloh passed away on June 21, 1986 at the age of 93 years old.

Ernest A. Koster passed away on June 10th at the age of 84 years old.

Fulda Wood Duck Festival a ‘smashing good time.’

Ed and Ann Balt going 100 miles per hour since their retirement in 1988.

DNR Fisheries Department personnel surveyed Fulda’s First and Second Lakes for fish populations last week and have declared the lakes healthy. The lakes are well-stocked with walleyes and black crappies.

A tramp steamer named Fulda was used when the Olympics were reborn 100 years go to transport athletes to Greece (a 12 day trip). The athletes then had to travel to Athens were they arrived just one day before competition.

Ella Lober celebrates her 80th birthday.

Kenny and Verna Busch celebrate their 50th anniversary.

Kari Stewart participates in Grandma’s Marathon held in Duluth.

Jim Larson hits hole-in-one on the second hole on Wednesday under the threat of stormy weather. Town and Country’s hole 2 is a par 3, 153 yards.Pickings from the Past
