Karen Langer and Kermit Bormann announce their engagement. A September 24th is planned.

Mrs. Emery (Anna) Hallameck, 90, died Saturday after a lingering illness in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Marvin Mischke reports that he will pick up any wild pheasant, duck or partridge eggs where the nest has been ruined in haying. The eggs will be placed in an incubator where they will be hatched and eventually turned loose.

Miss Barbara Zemler graduated with Highest Honors from Presentation College, Aberdeen with an Associate in Science Degree in Elementary Teacher Education.

Patricia McBride and William Pregge were married May 21st at Windsor Presbyterian Church in Des Moines, Iowa.

Mr. and Mrs. Philip Fury were surprised last Thursday by friends and family in honor of their 25th wedding anniversary.

Register for Summer Swim Lessons to begin in June. Lessons will be given by the Bath House on the lake.

Mrs. Mollie Magnus wishes to announce the engagement of her daughter, Elaine to William Sandefur. the wedding date has been set for July 18th.

Three 4-Her’s in Murray County will participate in a Citizenship Short Course at the national 4-H Center in Washington, D. C. from June 24 to July 2. They are Jean Abramson and Mike Holmberg from Slayton and Cathy Tutt of Lake Wilson.

FFA Chapter purchases 600 Pheasants to repopulate our rural area wildlife. FFA members participating in this project include Scott Spittle, Robert Klein, Dan Kirlin, Dave Goedtke, Chad Smith, Phil Cowan, Doug Zemler, Les Madison, Chuck Zemler, James Green, Brian Dierks, Kurt Beeck and Ray Green.

A town meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 11th for the purpose of answering questions about a Credit Union.

Charlie Hopkins met with Senator Durenberger to discuss the rural Farm Crisis in a panel discussion on May 27th.

The camping facility at Seven Mile County park was approved on June 3rd by the county board. There will be five campsites in a horseshoe west of the parking lot. Total cost of the five sites will be approximately $1,700.

The six month contract for Charlie Hopkins as City Economic Coordinator will run out June 15. After discussion, the council was most in favor of keeping him on but a check will be made on the city financial status before a decision is made.

Judith Regan and George Isder, personal representatives of the Clarence and Agnes Jans estate, presented Lisa Abicht, Maple Lawn administrator, a check in excess of $50,000. Agnes had no children and requested the money be given to the nursing home. It will be used toward the building fund.

Colleen Crowley and S. Sgt. Mark Dolph announce their engagement. A July 12th wedding is planned.

Jennifer Lindquist and Glenn Hanson announce their engagement. The couple plans an August 9th wedding.

Clarence Hinrichs passed away on May 30th at the age of 82 years old.

David Horn receives Master of Divinity from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri.

Rod Williams, Dan Bennett and Julie Kramer qualify for State Track Meet.

Graduation of the class of 1996 took place Friday evening.

Loretta Gehl retires from a long time career in education serving as teacher and principal at St. Paul’s Lutheran School.

New sidewalks will be added to the City Park this summer.

Fulda High School student, Anita Mendoza is calm about her battle with cancer. Help Anita fight by attending a benefit for her on June 9th.

Maggie VanOort and Randy Fischer announce their engagement.

Randy Busch and Michelle Ryan announce their engagement. A July 20th wedding is being planned.

Paulena “Lena” Sanow passed away May 26th at the age of 78 years old.

Johanne Jensen passed away May 24th at the age of 99 years old.

Arvin Wildfeuer passed away May 20th at the age of 64 years old.

Raider boys are Section Track Champs! Six events head to State.
