Ten Pigs: An Epic Bath Adventure Trunk Show presented at Fulda Elementary School

What happens when a character in a story takes on the personalities that its creator wants it to have? Author and illustrator, Derek Anderson, Minneapolis, brought the characters from his book “Ten Pigs: An Epic Bath Adventure” to life during a trunk show held on Wednesday afternoon at Fulda Elementary School. His audience was comprised of the kindergarten and first grade students at the school.

“My job is to make things up. I really like my job because I can create a lion who is a very cool cat and walks like this,” Anderson said, demonstrating the walk of one who thinks they are the coolest thing living. “Or I can create a lion who is very powerful and scary. I can create a grumpy frog who is grumpy just because he has to live on a lily pad. Characters have to have many different feelings, just like you and I.
